Your live NetShow host on every page in one step, and a talking page at /alive.

== Description ==

Tick "Put the live host on every page" in Settings > NetShow Alive, pick its look, its corner
and its language, and save. Your host greets every visitor with a short caption, blinks and
moves, and speaks at the visitor's first tap or key: "You can interrupt me anytime." It carries
one menu (mute and volume first, hide, and more), which closes on its X, a tap outside or
Escape. It loads after your page, so your site stays fast, and it adds no tracking of its own.
Its voice comes through your own site (/wp-json/netshow-alive/v1/kit-session), which asks NetShow
for the session on your site's behalf under NetShow's limits for your site.

NetShow Alive adds one page to your site, /alive. Your NetShow host sits on the left (or the
right, your choice) and your own site sits beside it, so visitors browse your pages while they
talk to your host. Visitors can drag the border between the two, fold the host to a small strip,
or press SET ME FREE to let the host float over your site ("Bring me back" docks it again).

Voice starts only when a visitor presses TALK, and only then does the browser ask for the
microphone. The request goes to your own site first (a small endpoint this plugin adds at
/wp-json/netshow-alive/v1/session), which asks NetShow for the session on your site's behalf.
Visitors never see a NetShow address or key, and the plugin stores no key at all.

Nothing else on your site changes unless you ask for it. Inside the /alive side panel your
theme's header and footer are hidden so your pages fit; everywhere else your site looks exactly
as before. To put your NetShow agent on every page as well, see "Show your NetShow agent on every
page" below.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the netshow-alive folder to /wp-content/plugins/ (or upload the zip in Plugins > Add New).
2. Activate NetShow Alive.
3. Open Settings > NetShow Alive, enter the host name NetShow gave you, pick a side and a colour, save.
4. Ask NetShow to switch voice on for your site's address. Until then TALK says
"Voice is not available right now" and your site works as usual.
5. Visit yoursite/alive.

If /alive shows "not found", open Settings > Permalinks and press Save once.

== Verify your site without uploading a file ==

NetShow's embed page asks you to prove the site is yours before chat goes live, under
"Verify ownership and activate chat". With this plugin you do not need to upload a file:

1. Copy the text NetShow shows there (it starts with netshow-origin-).
2. Paste it into Settings > NetShow Alive > Website proof text and save.
3. Press "Verify and activate" on NetShow.

The plugin then answers yoursite/.well-known/netshow-origin.txt with that text, and nothing
else. It never contacts NetShow for this; NetShow checks the address itself. If Verify still
fails, your host answers /.well-known/ itself: upload the file as NetShow describes instead.

== Show your NetShow agent on every page ==

No theme file to edit and no header-and-footer plugin to install:

1. On NetShow, copy the tag from Step 1 ("Paste this tag into your website").
2. Paste it into Settings > NetShow Alive > Your NetShow tag (Step 1 on NetShow).
3. Tick "Show <your agent> on every page" and save.

The plugin checks the tag and keeps its own clean copy, never your paste as typed: one NetShow
widget script, NetShow's own chat address for your agent, and only the settings NetShow's tag
carries. Anything else is dropped; a tag that loads another script or sends the chat elsewhere is
not saved, and the settings page says so in one line. The copy goes just before </body> on every
public page, never on /alive, the login page or the dashboard. Untick the box to take it off.

The chat answers only after NetShow has verified this site: paste the Website proof text above
(or upload the file NetShow describes) and press "Verify and activate" on NetShow.

== Put the live host on every page ==

1. Enter your host name (Host, public agent name) and save.
2. Tick "Put the live host on every page", choose Look, Corner and Language, and save.
3. Verify your site on NetShow (above). Until NetShow switches voice on for your site, the host
stays with your visitors in captions.

While the live host is on, the tag from "Show your NetShow agent on every page" steps aside, so
each page has one host.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does it slow my site down? =
No. Unless you tick "Put the live host on every page" or "Show <your agent> on every page", the
plugin loads nothing on your normal pages and only /alive loads its two small files. The live
host's one script loads async, after your page. With the box ticked, each page carries the one
NetShow widget tag, exactly as if you had pasted it into your theme.

= What does deactivating do? =
/alive goes away. Your settings stay, so reactivating brings the page straight back.

= Page caching =
/alive sends no-cache headers. If your caching plugin ignores them, exclude /alive from the cache.
