The story maker takes you through a few choices, then builds a book you can read and hear. Sign in and open the Toy Story page. New here? Create a free account first. The page calls itself "Toy Story - AI Story Time"; the same flow also has story kinds such as children, mystery, romance and fantasy on their own pages. Start with this page if you want to follow the steps below exactly.
Any signed-in account opens the page once its email address is confirmed and the short welcome setup is finished; there is no separate story switch to ask for. If the page sends you to a settings page that asks you to connect your own OpenAI key, add one there and open the page again. You can read this guide without starting a generation.
1 · Set up the book and voice
On "Your Toy Story - AI Story - Step 1", use Select Your Language and Select Number of Chapters. The visible chapter menu offers one through four chapters. Choose a voice source from the "Voice Provider (Select your voice source)" menu, then use the voice menu beneath it. The default provider is OpenAI; Microsoft, 11Labs and Google are also listed, but a listed provider may still need its service credentials to work. The audio player beside the voice menu lets you hear a sample. Select your image style is optional; "Default" is already selected. Press New Story.
2 · Pick a kind
The next screen asks "What Kind of Story Do You Want to Hear?" Choose one kind from the cards, or type your own in the custom story card. The page allows a maximum of one choice here. Press Next to continue; Back returns to the setup screen if you want to change the voice or chapter count.
3 · Add characters
On Characters, choose up to four cards. The blank cards let you type custom characters if the ready-made choices do not fit your story. Think about who the book should follow and who gets in their way. You can return to this screen before generation. Press Next when the cast is ready.
4 · Give it ideas
On Ideas, choose up to four ingredients for the story. These are prompts for the story maker, not chapters you have to write yourself. Pick the details you actually want to appear, then press Next. The Back button lets you revise the characters first.
5 · Choose a plot device
On Plot devices, choose at most one card. This is the turn or mechanism that moves the story along. A custom text card is available here too. Press Next after you have chosen it.
6 · Choose the setting
On Settings, choose up to two places or settings. You can type a custom one if needed. Press Generate Story to reach the final screen, which shows the assembled Prompt. Read it before committing; use Back if one of your choices needs changing.
7 · Generate and find your book
Press Generate Story on the prompt screen to start the job. The next screen says "Story Generating..." and shows progress. Generation can take several minutes. When it finishes, use Show Story to open the book. To come back later, press See My Creation at the top of the story page, or open the book listings. The listing is headed Book Listings. A finished book offers View Book, Download PDF and Download Audio; an unfinished one may show Processing instead.
What you get, and what to check
A whole book usually takes 8 to 10 minutes. You do not need to keep the page open once it has started: the book lands in your listing by itself, six to a page, newest first. Partway through, Show Manifesto opens the plot outline (title, characters and chapters); later, Show Story Plot on the listing shows it again. On the progress screen you can play the whole narration, start it over, or save it as an MP3.
Select Your Language offers English, Urdu, Spanish and French. More chapters make a longer book, a longer wait and a higher cost, because each generation is paid from your credit balance.
If something stops you:
- No Option Selected means a deck needs at least one card before Next works.
- Please enter the value of selected option means a blank card you picked has no words yet.
- A bar that never moves, or a note that you do not have enough credits for this generation, means your credit balance is too low: top up and generate again with the same cards.
- A book that says Processing is still being made; refresh in a few minutes.
A child can help pick the cards. Read the finished book yourself before story time.
What this does not do
Making a book does not publish it, post it to social media, or send it to anyone. This guide does not switch on missing account access or a provider key. Illustrations are an enhancement: if image generation fails, the story job can still produce a text-and-audio book, so a missing image does not by itself mean the writing failed.
