Make a short

The Shorts page and the video maker are currently two different places. The page headed Video Shorts at /dashboard/video_shorts/create still says it is a placeholder. It has no general short-building form. To start a video now, use Video Pipeline. The steps below keep those two surfaces separate so you do not spend time looking for buttons that are not there.

1. Open Shorts Studio from Content Studio. The page title is Video Shorts. For most owners, its only other text says the view is a placeholder. Some internal owners can also see Generate an image, but that restricted image experiment is not a public Shorts workflow. If you see only the placeholder, your account is behaving as the current page is written.

2. Go to Video Pipeline to start a clip. This is also where the empty Shorts Listing sends you when you press Create a Short. The page opens with Video Type, Video Model, and Video Generation Prompt. Pick the type and model available to your account, then describe the shot you want. Keep the prompt specific about the subject, action, and setting so you can judge the result later.

3. Set Video duration and Aspect Ratio for the format you need. Review the other fields before submitting; they change the generated media, not your account or an existing video. The available models and their required provider access may differ by account. If the page reports that a key or provider is missing, add only the key requested by that page before trying that model again.

4. If you want spoken words, turn on Add Voice Narration and choose a Voice Narration Type. The page offers a Voice Narration Prompt for generated speech or Upload Voice Narrration for an audio file; that last label is spelled that way on the page. The older Shorts narration endpoint is separate: it requires your own ElevenLabs API key. The older script-assistance endpoint requires your own OpenAI key. Having a key does not make the placeholder page into a builder, and this guide does not ask you to paste a key into the video prompt.

5. Review your choices and press Create Video once. Wait for the page's result or error before trying again. This action starts video generation on the Video Pipeline; it does not schedule a social post. A provider may reject a request or require account access, so check the page's response before assuming a clip was saved.

6. Look in the Video Pipeline listings for videos made through that path. If you already have a record made by the older Shorts workflow, open its Shorts Listing for Personal, or replace Personal in the address with the category you chose: Business, Pleasure, or Marketing. The listing shows Short #, and, when those files exist, Script, Audio Files, and Final Video. An empty list says No shorts found. The two listings are different; a Video Pipeline job should be checked in the Video Pipeline listing first.

What this does not do

This guide does not claim the placeholder Shorts page can make a short, that narration runs without a required key, or that every model is available to every owner. It does not post, schedule, or send your video to anyone. Review a finished file yourself before sharing it anywhere.
