Your live agent is an AI. When seeing would help, it can ask to use your camera—for example, so you can show a product, a problem spot or something in front of you. The camera starts only after you choose it and allow access in your browser.
You can try the camera flow on The Alive Presence page when that page is turned on for the site. The same Camera choice appears in the one agent menu on other Alive Kit surfaces that support seeing.
Start the camera
- Open the small hamburger menu beside the live character.
- Choose More.
- Choose Camera.
- Listen to the short reason the agent gives for wanting to see.
- Use your browser or phone prompt to allow or block camera access.
That last choice is yours. The agent cannot skip the browser prompt. If you say no, the conversation can continue without the camera. If the camera is unavailable or already busy in another app, the agent tells you and carries on without pretending it can see.
The agent may also ask for the camera during a conversation when seeing would make its answer more useful. It says why first, then your device asks for permission. You can decline and keep talking.
What you see after allowing it
The page opens a Camera walkthrough with a preview labelled Your camera. The agent can guide you through one area at a time. Snap lets it inspect one still image and respond in a short, careful way. A photo cannot prove everything, so the agent is instructed to be clear about uncertainty.
Some owner walkthroughs also offer Clip for a short video. A clip is for the owner’s record; the live model does not watch that video. If the page supports saving, it asks separately with Yes, save and No. Allowing the camera does not also grant permission to save. Nothing is sent to the owner unless that separate save choice is available and you choose yes.
Stop sharing
Choose Camera off in the walkthrough, or choose Camera from the agent menu again. The page stops the camera tracks and removes the live preview. Closing or hiding the agent also should not be treated as permission to keep watching.
If you previously blocked the camera, your browser may require you to change the site permission before it can ask again. Use the camera or lock symbol near the address bar, then reload the page if needed.
