NetShow proxy voice is the default. You can keep that voice or, where approved and set up, choose a Google or xAI voice. Your agent still says it is an AI, whichever voice it uses.
Find the voice choices
New here? Create a free account first.
- Sign in and open your agents (sign in).
- Find your agent and choose Unified Editor, the wand button.
- Choose Channels, then Realtime.
- Look for Voice, with three sets: NetShow voice, Google voice and xAI voice.
The editor's address is /dashboard/agents/{id}/unified, with your agent's ID in place of
{id}. Each set shows its provider, availability and voice names. Each voice has a language
note and a short description, such as warm or clear.
The three-set panel is hidden while NetShow's voice_option_sets switch is off; that switch defaults off. If you see only the existing voice menus, this panel has not been enabled for the site. You can keep using the default NetShow voice.
Pick and save
- Read the status on the set you want. Only a ready choice can be selected.
- Open its voice list and choose Use beside a voice.
- Save the Realtime tab. Picking Use alone does not save your change.
- Check Speaking now. It names the voice the agent can actually use, including a reason if it has returned to its NetShow voice.
Mrs. NetShow's house voice is Marin; Mr. NetShow's is Cedar. The default goes through NetShow's voice connection, rather than your browser's built-in voice.
Understand a paid choice
Google and xAI are paid options. Each has its own switch, provider setup and daily spending limit. Both provider switches default off, and both daily limits default to $0, which means closed. Selecting a voice does not turn those on or approve spending.
- Switched off: that provider has not been enabled.
- Not set up yet: the provider connection is not ready.
- Needs approval (daily ceiling is $0): no daily spending has been approved.
- Today's ceiling reached: the day's allowed use has run out.
Paid providers need an approved limit and a configured connection; where a connection asks for your own key, you also need your own provider account. This voice list has no key-entry field, and an own key does not bypass these daily limits. Ask NetShow to confirm the provider setup and limit before relying on it. If a paid choice cannot run, the agent uses its NetShow voice.
Next: open your agent's public page, let it greet you and listen to one short reply. If it sounds different from your selection, check Speaking now before changing anything else.
