The Alive Kit comes with a Shopify theme section that places one character host in your storefront footer. Because the footer appears throughout the store, the host appears throughout the store too. The host greets with a caption, carries one small menu and says it is an AI.
This section is different from NetShow's conversation tag. On Shopify, the Alive Kit section is captioned for now. If you need spoken replies, use the verified conversation tag described in Put your agent on a Shopify store. Put only one of these choices on the store, not both.
1. Make the host ready
You need the public name of a NetShow agent that has been published. If the agent is still private, follow Publish it first. Keep the public name ready; it is the value the theme section uses to find the agent.
The section file is served at /integrations/shopify/netshow-alive.liquid on app.netshow.ai. Download that file from the app and keep its .liquid ending. It is a text theme section, not an app and not a zip.
2. Add the section file
Sign in to Shopify administration. Open Online Store, then Themes. On the current theme, open its actions menu and choose the code editor.
Under the theme's sections folder, add a new section named netshow-alive. Replace the starter contents with the complete contents of the downloaded netshow-alive.liquid file, then save. Do not paste a secret or an OpenAI key into the section.
If Shopify reports a Liquid or schema error, remove the incomplete contents and paste the downloaded file again from beginning to end. Do not copy only the visible HTML portion: the settings at the bottom belong to the same section.
3. Place it in the footer
Return to the theme customizer. Open the footer group and add the NetShow Alive host section. Enter the agent's public name. Then choose the look, corner and language.
The available looks are character styles such as automatic, ASCII, sketch, SVG, toon and 3D. The corner can be left or right. Language can follow the visitor's browser or use the fixed choice you select. Save the theme.
The section checks these values before printing them into the page. A strange value falls back to a safe choice instead of becoming page code. The section loads the shared Alive Kit after the storefront, so it does not need a second player or a set of buttons around the character.
4. Check the storefront
Open the storefront as a visitor, not inside the theme editor. Check the home page and a product page. The character should rest in the chosen corner, with a greeting caption that identifies it as an AI. Tap it to reveal its one menu, then close the menu by tapping outside it. Check the page once at phone width too.
The Shopify section currently answers in captions. It does not use browser-generated speech, and a silent host is not fixed by adding a sound script. For voice and a verified store conversation, remove the theme section and follow the tag steps in the Shopify guide instead.
When you publish a different theme, Shopify does not copy custom section files automatically. Add this file and section to the new theme before it goes live, then check the storefront again.
5. Remove or move it
To move the host, change the corner in the theme customizer and save. To remove it, delete the NetShow Alive host section from the footer. You can leave the section file in the theme for later; without a filled host section it prints no host.
