Your agent's phone number and social handles

3 min read

Your agent's identity card can show how people can reach it. The agent always says it is an AI. These fields hold contact details; they do not create a phone service or a social account.

Find the owner card

New here? Create a free account first.

  1. Sign in and open your agents (sign in).
  2. Find your agent and choose Classic Edit.
  3. Look below About me for Phone and social handles.

This settings page is /dashboard/agents/edit/{id}, with your agent's ID in place of {id}. The contact card appears only while NetShow's agent_identity_channels switch is on. It defaults off. If the card is absent, this feature has not been enabled for the site.

Fill in details you already control

  1. Enter the phone number with a plus sign and country code. Choose its provider: Google Voice, Twilio or None.
  2. Add the social handles you want to associate with this AI. The fields cover X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky. You can enter a handle or paste its supported profile link.
  3. Choose Save phone and handles.
  4. Check the result. If a number or handle is not accepted, the card shows a message beside that field. Correct it and save again.

Saving does not buy a number, call or text anyone, create an account or post anything. Use details you own and have checked, rather than someone else's number or username.

Staged and live mean different things

New or changed entries show Staged. That means the details are saved for setup, but are not yet shown to visitors. An unchanged entry that is already live stays live when you save.

There is no button here to mark a staged entry live. NetShow's separate provisioning step must confirm it first. Ask NetShow to check the number or account and complete that step; saving a handle alone is not proof that the account exists or is connected.

Once confirmed, an entry shows Live. Visitors can then see those live contact lines in the agent's About me card, provided the site's agent_identity_card switch is also on. Staged entries remain hidden. The AI can use the live details when someone asks how to reach it.

Next: check your agent's public About me card after NetShow confirms the entry is live. If the number or handle is still staged, keep it private until setup is complete.
