Hire a ready AI employee and make it yours

5 min read

Some role pages under Hire come with a ready NetShow agent you can take on as your own. You give it four facts about your business, NetShow makes a private copy in your account, and from then on you change it, test it and publish it like any agent you built yourself.

  1. Pick the role. Open Hire and choose a role, for example the front desk page. Read what the agent does and the list headed with its name and "never does" before you go further. Only a role with a NetShow roster agent shows the button that reads Hire and the agent's name (Hire Riley on the front desk page). Press it. If you are not signed in, you are sent to sign up first; the sign-up page tells you which agent you are hiring and brings you straight back to the form afterwards.

  2. Tell it about your business. The form asks for four things, all required: Business name, Hours, Services and Website. The website must be a full address that starts with http or https. Press the Hire button at the bottom once. A second press for the same role within ten minutes is not queued twice; the page says your agent is already on the way.

  3. Know what gets copied and what does not. Your copy starts with the roster agent's name, role, personality, first line, voice, never rules and guardrails. It does not start with the house agent's face: your copy opens with the platform default face and no portrait is made for it. It is a new agent in your account, it is not listed on the marketplace, and it starts private. Your four facts go into its knowledge, never into its personality, so it can answer about your business. Your website is read under the same rules as any knowledge link.

  4. Wait for it to arrive. After you press Hire, a line at the top of the form tells you where your request stands. If it says your agent is being made now, it will be on your dashboard when it is ready. If it says Your agent is queued., the creator is closed for the moment; your request keeps asking for up to seven days and is made when the creator opens again. Come back to the same form to check: your copies are listed under the agent's name with their face. A copy whose own exam passed shows Passed its trade exam; otherwise the line reads Its trade exam is not passed yet.

  5. Change the first things. Open your copy from the dashboard. Rename it and adjust what it knows in the agent editor, as Shape what it knows describes. Give it a face of your own with Change how it looks, and change its voice or first line with Give it a voice. Keep the never rules and guardrails in its instructions when you edit them.

  6. Try it before anyone sees it. On the deploy page the Visibility card reads Private — not published yet for a new copy. Nobody else can reach a private agent, so use the editor's typed and spoken test conversations, ask the questions your customers ask, and check the answers against your four facts.

  7. Publish it. When the answers sound right, press Publish agent on the deploy page and confirm. Publish it explains what that switches on and how to make it private again.

  8. Remember what the role will never do. The role page's "never does" list is the promise the role makes to your visitors. This guide does not retype it: read it on the role page you hired from, and keep your copy's instructions in line with it.

What this does not do

Hiring does not publish anything, send any message or put your agent on the marketplace. It does not copy the house agent's face, conversations or other owners' facts, and it does not make the copy pass its trade exam: the badge appears only when your own copy's exam passes. If the Hire button is missing on a role page, that role has no ready agent to hire; you can still build one from the start with Create an agent.
