Your agent can help write a social post for your own accounts. Start by connecting your own Metricool account. You remain the person who reviews the words and publishes from Metricool; having a draft does not make a post public.
From connection to your decision
-
In the dashboard, open Settings, then Metricool. The page at
/dashboard/settings/metricoolis headed Metricool Settings. You need your own Metricool account and its API key; NetShow does not give you a Metricool key. The hint beside the key field points you to Metricool's Settings → Integrations → API. Check your own Metricool plan for access to the accounts and networks you intend to use. -
Enter your key in Metricool API Key: and press Save. If a key is already connected, the page shows a masked value and an edit button. You do not need to put a key in an agent's instructions or a chat. Keep it in the settings form. A missing or rejected key means the agent cannot make a Metricool draft.
-
Once your brands load, choose the account you own under Select Brand: and press Save again. An API key alone is not enough: the social setup check needs a selected brand too. If the brand list is empty, check the connection and the brands in your Metricool account before asking the agent to draft.
-
Open the agent you want to use and go to Tools & Plugins. In Social Media, turn on Social Post Drafting, then save the agent. This gives that agent permission to use the social drafting tool when it is available for your account. If the control or tool is not available, stop here; connecting Metricool by itself does not switch on an unavailable tool.
-
Ask the agent for a draft: give it the network, the audience, the message and any wording to avoid. Ask it to check the connection first. The
check_social_setuptool reports whether your key and brand can be used;queue_social_postsubmits a draft only when the social tool is enabled and the setup works. Read the agent's result to learn where this particular draft went. A suggested time is a target for the draft, not proof that anything went live. -
When your account has the Campaign queue, open
/dashboard/social/campaign-queue. Under Waiting for your approval, read the draft, then use Approve only if its text, network and target time are right. Depending on the queue features enabled for your account, approval either saves a draft in Metricool or moves it to the queue's scheduled preview. The preview has not reached Metricool. If you do not have the queue, an enabled social tool can put the draft straight into your Metricool planner for your review there. -
Open your own Metricool planner and inspect any draft that was saved there. Check the selected brand, network, text, media and time before you choose to publish it in Metricool. If your queue shows only a preview, there is no Metricool draft to publish yet. Keep editing or wait until your account's draft transfer is available; do not treat the queue's Scheduled label as a published post.
What this does not do
This guide does not publish a post, turn on live scheduling, connect a social network for you, or supply a Metricool subscription or API key. The agent can prepare a draft only with an available tool and your working connection. NetShow's queue approval is a review step; you make the final publishing choice in your own Metricool account.
